Let's Make Music School Class Information
Up to age 5

Parents (care-givers) and children up to age FIVE

-Early musical interaction has been shown to aid in opening pathways in the brain for musical and artistic development
-Rhythm and tonal patterns for parent and child
-Bonding with baby through songs, fingerplays, dancing and moving, playing rhythm instruments
-Caregiver and child joyfully explore the magic of music
-Develop large and small motor responses, as well as language and listening skills
-Caregiver and child chant fingerplays, sing songs, play instruments and move creatively
-Movement and music are vital parts of a toddlers life. MUSIC and MOVEMENT classes blend the two together for a great class for the active toddler.
-Together adult and child play rhythm instruments, learn fingerplays and chants, sing songs.
-Develop creative responses through their growing language and listening skills
-Use of movement activities that show form and develop creative pathways.
-Purposeful movement responses for developing small and large motor coordination
-Use of puppets, hoops, scarves, stories, etc. aids in movement activities and creative development
-Continuing development of music competency: keeping the beat and singing in tune
-Begin to add a musical language to tonal rhythm patterns
-Use of a wide variety of percussion instruments
-Beginning work with rhythm patterns, both reading and creating, leading to traditional beat notation.
-Developing independence in leading group movement and musical activities
-Teach specific listening and movement activities to enhance the child's musical skills and impulse control
